Sand goby



My first ever goby caught this morning in the harbour at Lyme Regis. I also caught four blenny during a lovely bright and sunny couple of hour session fishing mostly one inch Gulp! Fry on a #16 hook. I'm up to eighteen species of salt and fresh fish now caught on lures for the year

West Country bank holiday weekend II


Yesterday morning we did a ten mile run on the coast to Branscombe and back. We hadn't been finished long when it started raining, and it didn't stop for 24 hours. Today has been a much better day weather-wise, with a few hours fishing at Lyme Regis and another new species of fish: common blenny 


Stef ran from Seaton to meet me and we met up at the Cobb Arms for a pint before heading back to her folks'

West Country bank holiday weekend I


I love Lyme Regis and nipped over yesterday with Stef from her parents' in Seaton. We arrived to find the beach covered in heavy plant re-covering the beach with sand. I had a couple of hours LRF'ing and managed a flounder; my first flatfish for around 40 years!
