Recovery

Our Tuss had his testicles removed on Monday. One was retained and this meant we couldn't breed with him and the operation was necessary to prevent problems as he gets older (cancer basically). He was very groggy on Monday but much perkier the next morning and has come on great since. We can only walk on the lead for around 10 days but he looked great in this morning's late summer sun

Andy Williams

There are myriad versions of this wonderful Brian Wilson song on YouTube but sadly most are pretty poor. This reading by Andy Williams (who along with Matt Munro and Matt King Cole was among my late parents favourite singers) is just great. Andy RIP

Family time

We had a lovely family get together today with Alfie and his folks. The weather in Devon was better than forecast and we took lunch outdoors

Stef's parents are always great hosts and it was smashing to have four generations together

Tom, Lacey and Alfie haven't seen much of Tuss since he was small but they enjoyed each other's company relaxing on the patio

Back on the hill

Portly, slow, middle-aged but back out there. I managed three outings on Saturday: a five mile joggy dog walk with our Tuss plus Rich and his collie Sam, incredibly a 200 yard flat race on grass and the Glenfinnan Highland Gathering hill race

Daughter

I think I heard this today in Costa but it sounded amazing and more kind of etheral than this. Maybe I need an espresso?

Alfie's christening

We were in Devon at the weekend for Alfie's christening. He's two and a half now and we had a lovely afternoon at St John's in the Wilderness church then in the pub afterwards

Tussock in tweed

Tussock got lots of compliments in Scotland, and so did his Harris Tweed collar from his friend Julie at Collared Creatures
