More signs of spring

I think the recent cold but dry spell is prolonging our snowdrop season. Parts of the church field are awash with them. Thankfully the weather means the field is no longer awash with mud so I don't have to spend ages getting Tussock cleaned up after our walks. He saw two oystercatchers by the river this afternoon plus yesterday morning I heard a curlew calling while I was still in bed

Signs of spring

The nights are really drawing out now. Resident birds (robins, titmice, wrens, thrushes and blackbirds) are singing and we have daffodils coming out to go with the snowdrops, which are just about at their peak. Sand martins and chiffchaff are five or six weeks away. I love spring!
