Pat Kelly

Pat Kelly is one of my favourite reggae voices but I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of Doreen Schaffer. Like all the best singers she makes it sound so easy. Two great versions of the same song

Classic Cowling

Wednesday night's club run from the Bay Horse at Cowling was right up there with the best I've been on in over ten years involved with KCAC.  I've pinched the above photo from our web-site and I'm not sure but think Colleen might have taken it. Whatever it's a lovely reminder of a smashing evening

Ilkley Moor in spring time

It's been a beautiful day today and Stef and I walked on Ilkley Moor this morning with Rob, Hilary and Sophie plus Richard and Jan.  We were out for around three hours and met Tussock and Sophie's visa pals Walter and Archie too

Stef is doing the Highlander MM in June and we're mixing up dog runs with running everyday. I had a lazy few weeks after my last (132 day) streak but I'm enjoying being out immensely at the moment. It's not difficult on days like today

Testify

I heard this earlier in the week on the car radio. The Isleys, a young Jim Hendrix on guitar, names checks for Ray Charles, Jackie Wilson, James Brown etc. My new favourite record ever? Possibly

Sunday night run out

We left my car in Ilkley last night after beer in the Flying Duck and (excellent) food in the Thailand restaurant across the road. Tonight we ran over to fetch it and thankfully remembered both the car key and the key for the house

We dropped in town on a track I'd never even noticed never mind ran before. It took us into Middleton village, where the bluebells are coming out in the woods. More local exploration needed me thinks

More from Pembrokeshire

We managed to visit eight beaches in six days away in Wales. Tussock has always loved the seaside and enjoyed meeting another vizsla Wilson on our first full day away. He wouldn't know but the meet-up had been pre-arranged online. What hadn't been sorted beforehand was the other vizslas (and their humans) we met in the following days: I lost track but around six more smooths and two lovely wires, Ted and Sunny. I'd never been to Pembrokeshire before partly because of the distance from either the East Midlands, or the West Riding, but loved it
