West Country bank holiday weekend I

I love Lyme Regis and nipped over yesterday with Stef from her parents' in Seaton. We arrived to find the beach covered in heavy plant re-covering the beach with sand. I had a couple of hours LRF'ing and managed a flounder; my first flatfish for around 40 years!

The fish at the top of the post is a painted comber, which are very common in the Med, as are sea bream. I caught several annular bream but the fish below, my only two banded sea bream was caught on my very last cast of our holiday

Archie Vizsla R.I.P.

We had desperately sad news today that our dear friend Archie Vizsla has passed away. Archie and his "brother" Walter were some of the first dogs we got to know after Tussock came to us. Gone now,  but not forgotten. We'll be thinking about you old fella next time we are out and about on the moor

Majorca sea fishing

I've spent a few hours fishing while we are at Port Pollensa and so far have caught four of these annular sea bream, all on white Isome. There are thousands of tiny fish around leading to almost a bite every cast but lots of frustration. I was lucky enough to see an osprey on my second session and sat wondering where it was going to spend the summer
