Sand goby

My first ever goby caught this morning in the harbour at Lyme Regis. I also caught four blenny during a lovely bright and sunny couple of hour session fishing mostly one inch Gulp! Fry on a #16 hook. I'm up to eighteen species of salt and fresh fish now caught on lures for the year

July sunset

Last night was very odd perch fishing on the canal near Gargrave. The air felt warm but there was a brisk and cool breeze right out of the East. There was a storm "threatening" but 24 hours later it's still yet to appear. I reckon we've lost around 15 minutes of light since the summer solstice but the swifts are still here; albeit it for a couple of weeks maximum

I Roy

Barrington Spence

I caught the last few seconds of I-Roy deejaying over this cut this afternoon on 6 music. Neither the deejay, nor original version were familiar (I'd never heard of Spence tbh), but both are killers! Big up Stuart Mc for playing something a bit different on the BBC

Green fingers

Stef is away and I am overseeing her garden like a baldie-headed Bruce Dern I had an untamed MANjungle before Stef moved up North, but her plants seem to be doing okay on my watch, possibly aided by the deluge earlier this week while I was in Leicester. I'm particularly pleased with the geraniums; plants I have always associated with greenhouses, not outdoor plots
