Heaven on Earth
We drove up the dale and then over to Arncliffe in Littondale today. I love Wharfedale but Littondale is at least as beautiful, and generally gets far fewer visitors. We walked around 10 miles including crossing the watershed twice, had lunch at the splendid West Winds tearooms in Buckden and nipped into the Falcon for a pint when we had finished. The heather is in full bloom at the moment. All together a splendid day out

A day in the North Lakes
We went up to Keswick on New Year's Eve. After walking up Dodd (a new Wainwright for us all) we had a potter round Keswick and a great late lunch at the always reliable Casa Bella
Tuss has been on a diet and the subsequent weight loss plus a busy Christmas in Devon with daily runs on the beach meant he's never been as fit. He had a complete blast in the woods that surround the fell. I've enjoyed my non-fishing time outdoors of late too and just maybe I might possibly get back into some long walks or even runs (!), for the first time in several years
